Born in a Marathi family in 1951, Nana Patekar started his career in a very difficult period. Today he has many excellent and memorable films in Hindi and Marathi films to his name. Nana Patekar has been working in theater and films since the young age of 13. He started his career with a negative role in the film Gaman. However, his first breakthrough came in 1986 when people saw him in his hit film Ankush. People appreciated his signature style in the film.
