Pandit Narasimhalu Vadavati (English: Pandit Narasimhalu Vadavati, born January 21, 1942) is a famous Indian musician. The Government of India has declared his birthday, 21 January, to be celebrated as ‘Artist’s Day’.
Pandit Narsimhalu Vadavati was born in a famous musician family in a village called Vadavati. His grandfather Chikkaobalappa was a Shehnai artiste. Father Buddappa was a tabla player, while mother Rangamma was a devotional singer. Pandit Narsimhalu Vadavati had special interest in music since childhood. After years of hard work, Pandit Narsimhalu Vadavati achieved mastery on the clarionet. He acquired the unique skill of singing on the clarionet almost like the tune of a man’s song. He performed in India, Great Britain), America and France. Matmari Veeranna was his first guru. Later he completed his music practice at Sri Venkatappa’s place. Pandit Narsimhalu Vadavati took lessons in Hindustani music from Pandit Siddram Jambladinni. After ten years of rigorous practice, Pandit Narsimhalu Vadavati started solo singing.
