Later, after losing his songs on Radio Ceylon, the minister himself had to come forward to remove this curb. At the age of just 30, he got the title of “Rhythm King”. He always considered the composer’s status as high and became the first music director to get one lakh rupees. From the dimension of music in 1957, his journey had a “milestone”. After the arrival of Shammi Kapoor, OP Nayyar as well as Hindi film music also became young again. Madhubala even said that she will reduce her remuneration for the manufacturers who will take OP to the composer. OP composed music for 6 films of Madhubala. Despite being the most expensive musicians of those days, he was the highest demand. His name came before the actors in the film’s show Reel. This did not happen earlier for any other musician, OP started the trend which was later adopted by many successful musicians.
Interesting facts
It is said that talent has its own side effects. OP Nayyar wrote songs from lyricist Pradeep in only one film. This was S. Mukherjee Production’s 1969 film ‘Relationship’. Nayyar Saheb did not like Pradeep’s appearance. Therefore, he did not call Pradeep in seating. Poet Pradeep is very simple heart gentle person. Nayyar is absolutely blown away. Pradeep, the songs of ‘Relations’, sent to Harakaare and their tunes were made.
Similarly, Nayyar wrote the songs of the film ‘Baharan Phir Bhi Aayegi’ from the lyricist Unknown. Unknown’s son Sameer himself told that Nayyar Saheb had requested unknown not to come to Nayyar. Unknown asked the reason. Nayyar said- ‘Man, you are a very decent man and I talk with abuses. I do not like it. ‘
‘Prank’ and ‘Ragini’- these were two films in which Mohammad Rafi sang for Kishore Kumar. The producer of the 1958 film ‘Ragini’ was Ashok Kumar himself. And along with Kishore, he was also acting in this film. The song ‘Man Mora Bawra’ from this film was based on classical-music. So Nayyar decided that he would lose this song with Rafi. Kishore Kumar did not approve of the voice of Rafi on the screen. He went to the elder brother. But Dadamuni flatly refused to interfere.
Last time
A year also came when not a single film of OP came. Recalling the year 1961, he used to say OP -“Sara Jahan Jahan was plundered in love ..”. Actually OP was talking about his relationship with his most favorite playback singer (Asha Bhosle). In 1962, he made a brilliant comeback film ‘Ek Musafir Ek Hasina “. In the same decade, he in the same decade,” Fir Wohi Dil Laaya Hoon “(1963), Kashmir’s Kali (1964), and’ Mere Sanam ‘(1965) with music from music Keep the place on the top. Once she was not happy with her acting on her song, she was not happy with Sharmila that you can not just stand in my songs, these songs are of antics, You will also have to use the gestures of your body.
Sharmila tied her advice and took special care of this in every film. Despite the good music by the decade, his films began to flop. His relations with Rafi Saheb had also deteriorated. After the death of Guru Dutt, Geeta drowned herself in alcohol and he also died tragically in 1972, while OP’s relationship with Asha was going through a delicate phase. This was a very difficult time for him. In the film “Pran Jaye Par Word Na Jaye”, Asha Bhosle sang for him “Kabhi Kabhi Kabhi Kabhi ….”. In August 1972, OP and Asha Bhosle finally decided to never work together and they were never seen together under one roof. On 28 January 2007, Indian Hindi cinema composer OP Nayyar lost.
