Vijaydev Narayan Sahi (English: Vijaydev Narayan Sahi, born: October 7, 1924; death: November 5, 1982) was a famous poet and critic of the new poetry era of Hindi literature. He was included among the poets of Tar Saptak. His lectures on Joyce and articles related to new poetry are indicative of his strong critical ability.

Vijaydev Narayan Sahi was born on October 7, 1924 in Kashi. M.A. in English from Prayag After completing his studies, he remained a professor at Kashi Vidyapeeth and then Prayag University for three years. Remained associated with labor organizations and went to jail several times. Sahi’s poems contain poignant satire. ‘Machhli Ghar’ and ‘Sakhi’ are his poetic works. He is a famous experimentalist poet of the third octave. He has also written essays and criticism. He was a prominent critic, intellectual, essayist, and expert scholar of Jaisi poetry. Hindi new poetry suffered a great loss due to his untimely demise (November 5, 1982). He was included in the editorial board of both the magazines ‘Alochana’ and ‘Nai Kavita’.
