On one hand, Rajesh Khanna got work in films immediately, while Subhash got a chance to debut with the film ‘Aradhana’ after one year. After this he appeared in films like ‘Umang’, ‘Sherni’ and ‘Natak’. Subhash Ghai did not light as an actor. He started writing stories and shared them.
The first film was rejected seven times
Subhash Ghai’s acting career may not have gone well, but he shone a lot as a director. Without any experience, Subhash started direction with ‘Kalicharan’ in 1976. This action drama featured Shatrughan Sinha, Reena Roy and Ajit Khan in the lead roles. There is also an interesting story behind this film. The film is said to have been rejected seven times before the approval of NN Sippy. Sippy finally gave Subhash a chance and the film was a box office hit. Subhash Ghai directed and directed a total of 16 films by 2016, most of which were hits. He has also produced about 31 films. Most of his films have been average as a producer.
