Padmavathy Bandopadhyay (English: Padmavathy Bandopadhyay, born November 4, 1944) is the first woman Air Marshal of the Indian Air Force. It’s as if being first with them has become a part of it. In her career, she became the first woman to become a Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Society of India. She is the first Indian woman to conduct scientific research at the North Pole. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2020 for his service to the Air Force and excellent work in the field of medicine.
Introduction
Padmavati Bandopadhyay was born on 4 November 1944 in Tirupati, Andhra Pradesh. Her full name in childhood was Padmavati Swaminathan. He met an Air Force officer S. N. Married to Bandopadhyay.[1]
Padmavati Bandopadhyay has received more than a dozen honors in the country and the world including Vishisht Seva Medal, Ati Vishisht Seva Medal and Honor Medal from the President. Apart from this, Limca Book of Records chose her as ‘Woman of the Year’ for the year 2014. Padmavati Bandopadhyay and her husband S. N. Bandopadhyay is the first couple in the world to receive the Vishisht Seva Medal together on the same day. He was awarded the Padma Shri in 2020 for his service to the Air Force and excellent work in the field of medicine.
Education
He studied at DTEA in the Humanities stream. After graduating from school he made the difficult and unusual transition from humanities to science stream at Delhi University. He studied pre-medical at Kirori Mal College and then joined the Armed Forces Medical College, Pune in 1963.
career
Padmavati Bandopadhyay joined the Indian Air Force in 1968. He was awarded the Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) for his conduct during the India-Pakistan War of 1971. Satinath and Padma were the first IAAF couple to receive the President’s Award at the same Investiture Parade. In her career, she is the first woman to become a Fellow of the Aerospace Medical Society of India and the first Indian woman to conduct scientific research at the North Pole.
Padmavati Bandopadhyay is also the first woman armed forces officer to complete the Defense Services Staff College course in 1978. She was the Director General Medical Services (Air) at Air Headquarters. In 2002 she became the first woman to be promoted to Air Vice Marshal (two-star rank).
