Sahitya News Desk !!! Pandit Sitaram Chaturvedi (English: Pandit Sitaram Chaturvedi, born- 27 January 1907; death- 17 February, 2005) was a famous Hindi litterateur and journalist. He first composed the original work on ‘Hanumat Charit’. ‘Kalidas Granthi’ was a unique and adventure attempt by Sitaram Chaturvedi. From 1933 to 1938, he was the editor of ‘Sanatan Dharma’ and private secretary to Madan Mohan Malaviya. Sitaram Chaturvedi ji composed more than 250 texts.
Birth and education
Pandit Sitaram Chaturvedi was born on 27 February 1907 in ‘Chhoti Pieri’, Varanasi (former Kashi). His father, Pt. Bhimsen, was the chairman of the oriental learning and pauraohitya department of ‘Kashi Hindu University’. After receiving primary education from Muzaffarnagar, he received the degree of Postgraduate in Hindi, Sanskrit, Pali and ancient Indian history and culture from ‘Kashi Hindu University’ and BT, LLB, Sahityacharya. He was also knowledgeable of ancient Indian scripts like Hindi, Sanskrit, English, Urdu, Persian, Pali, Prakrit and Apabhramsa language and Brahmi, Kharoshthi.[1]
Work on various positions
Sitaram ji did teaching work in ‘Central Hindu School’ and ‘Kashi Hindu University’ from 1932-1938 and was also a professor. Pandit Sitaram Chaturvedi 1932-1934 and 1952-1953 from ‘Bhagwan Sahitya Vidyalaya’, Acharya of Kashi, ‘Teachers Training College’, ‘Kashi Hindu University’, Founder President of Kashi (1942-1944), ‘Satish Chandra College’, Ballia Principal (1948–1949), ‘Town Degree College’, Principal of Ballia (1957 to 1968) and ‘Binani Vidya Mandir’, Director of Calcutta (1962–1964) were also there.
Editing and writing
Pandit Sitaram ji edited the English letter to be published from ‘Kashi Hindu University’ in 1927–1928. Subsequently, in 1930-1932, underground newspaper ‘Ranbheri’, ‘Shankhanad’ edited and wrote and edited the weekly ‘Sanatan Dharma’ published from ‘Kashi Hindu University’. From 1947-1949, ‘Bharat Vidya’ from Bombay, ‘Pratibha’ (monthly) in 1948, ‘Sangram’ (weekly) in 1949 and monthly letters from Kashi ‘Vasanti’ (1955–1959) and Kalcuta (present Kolkata) ‘ Sankalp ‘edited’ in 1962-1963.[1]
Works
Pandit Sitaram Chaturvedi wrote and staged 214 texts and 85 plays and drama in almost all areas like education, literature, philosophy, history yoga, politics etc. Their main works are as follows-

Prize and honor
‘Hindi Gaurav’ – ‘Uttar Pradesh Hindi Institute’ was received in 1999. ‘Sahitya Vachaspati’ – ‘Hindi Sahitya Sammelan’, Prayag met in 2003. The title of D. Lit – ‘Hindi Gaurav’ and ‘Kameshwar Singh Darbhanga Sanskrit University’ in 2003.[1]
Pandit Sitaram Chaturvedi died on 17 February 2005 near Bareilly.
