Life introduction
Pratap Singh was born on 1 October 1901 in a village village called ‘Carry’ of Amritsar district. BA from Khalsa College Tax went to America and MA from Michigan University there. Did; And at the same time he moved towards India’s politics. For Indian independence, the institution that was established in the name of ‘Ghadar Party’ in America started actively participating in its works. On returning to India, he joined the Indian National Congress in 1926 AD and continued to participate in the Congress movements till independence and went to jail.
Chief Minister of Punjab
After India’s independence, members of the Legislative Assembly were elected and became the Chief Minister of Punjab. The political situation of Punjab was extremely explosive in those days when he was the Chief Minister. In those days, the movement of independent Punjab under the leadership of Master Tarasingh was going on in full swing. A type of chaos was spread in the province. Carries faced the movement with their strong personality and political foresight and the main pillar of their diplomacy movement succeeded in creating a split between Master Tara Singh and Sant Fatah Singh and the movement became different. They emerged as a stable and influential ruler. He tried to develop the economic condition of his state. There was unprecedented progress in Punjab in both industry and agriculture. When China invaded India in 1962 AD, Carries have helped the people and money from their state, it is a history in itself.
Special contribution
In 1929, Shiromani joined the Akali Dal and also contributed to the Indian freedom struggle. Carries participated in the non -cooperation movement and were jailed for five years in 1932. Also actively participated in the Quit India Movement. Pratap Singh Carry completed many development works during his Chief Minister’s tenure. Among these, the main Bhakra-Nangal Dam, Kurukshetra and Punjab University of Patiala, Agricultural University of Ludhiana, Veterinary College of Hisar were the heads. He also took several steps for the industrialization of Punjab.
One incident
Sardar Pratap Singh Cairo was a great leader along with freedom fighter. Once he was going from Delhi to Chandigarh. He was accompanied by his Parliamentary Secretary Chaudhary Devi Lal. The car of Sardar Carr was running fast that a dog came in the middle. The dog died. Sardar Carr went a little distance and stopped the car. Two rounds were made on the roadside and called Devi Lal ji. He asked, Devilal tells this, why the dog died? After thinking a lot, Devi Lal said that dogs keep dying, it must have died like this. Sardar Pratap Singh Carr then asked, tell me why the dog died? Devilal ji remained silent, then said that you tell me. Then Sardar Pratap Singh Carr told Devi Lal that this dog died because it could not decide whether he had to go to this side of the road or he stood in the middle due to not taking the decision, that side. If he had decided, he would have gone to this side or shore of the road and would have survived. This dog was killed due to not taking a decision. Devi Lal got the mantra of politics. He followed it throughout his life. He never stayed in the middle. He always decided in politics. Always stood here or there. Because of this learning, he also became the Deputy Prime Minister of the country.
Death
During his tenure, he was accused of personal bias and corruption and had to abandon the post of Chief Minister in 1964 AD. A few days later, in early 1965, one day when he was returning from Delhi by motor car, some people shot him and died immediately.
