Birth and education
Parveen Babi was born on 4 April 1949 in Junagadh, Gujarat. Parveen was born fourteen years after her parents’ marriage and was the only child. He lost his father at the age of seven. Parveen Babi did her primary schooling in Aurangabad and then studied at St. Xavier’s College, Ahmedabad. His father Wali Mohammad Babi was an administrator with the Nawab of Junagadh.

Parveen’s modeling career started in 1972. Parveen, who left this world after crossing five decades of age, started her film career in 1973 with ‘Charitra’. After this came – Charitraheen, in which Salim Durrani had the lead role. However, the film that brought him into the limelight was Deewaar. It is enough to say for the excellence of Parveen’s acting that she was honored for her excellent performance in about 10 films. These include Majboor, Deewaar, Amar Akbar Anthony, Suhag, Kalia, Meri Awaaz Suno, Namak Halal, Ashanti, Khuddaar, Rang Birangi etc. However, these are the names of a few films.
