On this day, devotees worship Lord Shiva and observe fast throughout the day. It is believed that by doing this, blessings of Mahadev are showered and all the sorrows and troubles of life go away. The first Pradosh fast of Paush month is being observed on 28th December. So today we are telling you the worship method.
Simple method of worship-
On the day of Pradosh Vrat, wake up in the morning and take bath, after that wear clean clothes and keep your mind calm. Then establish Shivlinga at the place of worship and resolve to fast. Now anoint Shivling with Panchamrit. Mix milk, curd, ghee, honey and Ganga water in Panchamrit. Offer Belpatra, Dhatura and white flowers on Shivalinga.
At the time of worship, worship Lord Shiva by lighting an incense lamp and then chant the mantra Om Namah Shivay at least 108 times. After the puja is over, perform Aarti of Lord Shiva. At last, offer prasad of white things like kheer to Lord Shiva. It is believed that by worshiping Pradosh Vrat with this method one gets the blessings of Mahadev.
Auspicious time of Pradosh fast-
On the day of Shani Pradosh fast in the month of Paush, worship Shanidev along with worshiping Lord Shiva. The auspicious time for worship on this day is from 5.21 pm to 8.06 pm on 28th December. Do Shiva Sadhana during this time. Will be beneficial.
