Sports News Desk !!! Former Indian team spinner Pragyan Ojha is celebrating his 38th birthday today i.e. on 5th September. Pragyan Ojha was born in Bhubaneswar in 1986. He is one of those players of India who started well. He was counted among the great bowlers of India. He represented many teams including Hyderabad, Bihar, South Zone and Surrey County in his career.
Pragyan Ojha has played 24 Test matches for India. Where he took 113 wickets. During these excellent spells, he has taken 4 wickets in 5 innings and 5 wickets in 7 innings. Ojha also took 21 wickets in 18 ODIs. Along with this, he also took 10 wickets in 6 T20Is. Pragyan Ojha retired in 2020.
got married in 2010
Pragyan moved to Hyderabad at the age of 13 and has been living there with his family since then. On 16 May 2010, he married Karabi Baral, daughter of Kailash Chandra Baral and Chanchala Naik, who are professors at the University of English and Foreign Languages.
First-class cricket debut in 2004
Ojha made his first-class debut in 2004-05. He has also represented India at the Under-19 level. He took 29 wickets in the 2006-07 Ranji Trophy. Left-arm spinner Pragyan Ojha is known for his bowling ability.
The first test was played in 2009
Pragyan Ojha played his first Test match against Sri Lanka in 2009. For this, Sachin Tendulkar gave him the Test cap. The most memorable match of Ojha’s career was the match played against Australia in Mohali. In that match, Ojha led his team to victory not with the ball but with his bat.

In 2010, India won against Australia in Mohali by 1 wicket. In that match, the Indian team had to score only 216 runs in the fourth innings to win. On one side VVS Laxman was holding on at one end, but wickets were falling continuously at the other end. On the score of 205, Ishant Sharma was out after a partnership of 81 runs with Laxman. India needed 11 runs to win and Australia needed only 1 wicket. Then Ojha came to the crease and played his role in winning the match not with the ball but with the bat. He along with Laxman led India to victory.
There was a blast in IPL too
Pragyan performed brilliantly in the opening season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Ojha is the first bowler to win the Purple Cap in IPL. Pragyan represented the Deccan Chargers in IPL 2010.
