Sikkim News Desk !! Prem Singh Tamang (English: Prem Singh Tamang, born 5 February 1968) is a politician of India and Chief Minister of Sikkim. He is the politician of “Sikkim Revolutionary Front” (SKM). Prem Singh Tamang got ‘P.S. It is also known as ‘Gole’. In 1990, Prem Singh Tamang was appointed a graduate teacher under the Education Department in the Sikkim government and worked there until 1993.
Prem Singh Tamang was born on 5 February 1968 in a Nepali family to Kalu Singh Tamang and Dhan Maya Tamang. He obtained a bachelor’s degree from Governorment School Darjeeling in 1988. Due to social work and active interest in politics, Prem Singh Tamang resigned from government service and started participating in SDF political activities. He decided to form the ‘Sikkim Revolutionary Front’ party, which opposed the SDF party in Soreng, West Sikkim in 2014. On 6 September 2014, he officially resigned from all the SDF party charge and became the president of the SKM party. During the 2014 elections, the party won 10 out of 32 seats in the Sikkim State Assembly under the leadership of Prem Singh Tamang. Overall, in the 2014 elections, his party won 42 percent of the total votes in Sikkim.
