Introduction
Rahul Bajaj was born on 10 June 1938 in the Bengal Presidency. The foundation of Bajaj business house was laid by Rahul Bajaj’s grandfather Jamnalal Bajaj. The future generations carried forward the business of Bajaj Gharana. Rahul Bajaj got his early education from Cathedral and John Connon School. He obtained an Economics (Honors) degree from St. Stephens College, Delhi University and a law degree from Bombay University. MBA from Harvard Business School.
Marriage
In a TV interview, Rahul Bajaj had told that his wife Rupa Bajaj goes to his wife Rupa Bajaj. He also shared a unique thing related to the marriage with his wife. Rahul Bajaj said that when he was married to Rupa Gholp of the Marathi Brahmin family in 1961, he was the first ‘Love Marriage’ to be held in all the Rajasthani Marwari industry houses of that era. In such a situation, it was very difficult to keep pace between the two families.

Rahul Bajaj took over the reins of the Bajaj Group in 1965. Under his efficient leadership, the company touched new heights of success even in difficult times like license-raj. In the 1980s, Bajaj was the top manufacturer of two -wheel scooters. The demand for the group’s ‘Chetak’ brand scooter was so high that there was a waiting-pierde of up to 10 years. Rahul is also the chairman of the board of several companies. He was selected for the Rajya Sabha (2006-2010), the upper house of the Indian Parliament for his contribution to the economic sector and industry world. He has been awarded an honorary doctorate by 7 universities including IIT Roorkee.[1]
‘Hamara Bajaj’ transported from house to house
Bajaj Auto previously served as three-wheelers, whose foundation was laid by Rahul Bajaj’s father Kamalnayan Bajaj. Even today Bajaj Auto is the world’s largest three-wheeler export company, but in 1972, Bajaj Auto launched a scooter named ‘Chetak’ in the Indian market. This scooter gave Bajaj recognition in every corner and household of the country. This scooter gave the middle class of India a new dream or the first dream. For Bajaj Chetak, the company prepared the ‘Hamara Bajaj’ slogan as a marketing strategy. This slogan ruled the minds of people for many generations. Even today it is considered one of the most successful marketing campaigns in India.

Rahul Bajaj’s father’s name was Kamalnayan Bajaj and mother’s name was Savitri Bajaj. Mahatma Gandhi considered Rahul Bajaj’s grandfather Jamnalal Bajaj as his fifth son. Jamnalaj Bajaj was also a good friend of Jawaharlal Nehru, who became the first Prime Minister of India. He and former Prime Minister of India Indira Gandhi studied in the same school.
According to a book titled ‘Best Stories of Indian Business World’ (Manjul Publishing), Jawaharlal Nehru himself chose the name ‘Rahul’ for Kamalnayan Bajaj’s first son. His daughter Indira Gandhi was angry about this. Actually, Indiraji wished to name his son Rahul. Later, Indiraji’s grandson was named Rahul Gandhi. The special thing is that Rahul Bajaj named his first child Rajiv (Rajiv Bajaj).

Death
Rahul Bajaj died on 12 February 2022 at the age of 84. Rahul Bajaj, who took over the responsibility of Bajaj Group for five decades, had reduced his activism in business since 2021.
