Rajendralal Mitra (English: Rajendralal Mitra, born: 16 February, 1822, Kolkata; Death: July 27, 1891) was a famous scholar of subjects related to India.[1]He gained proficiency in Sanskrit, Persian, Bungalow and English languages. He has edited many texts and compositions. Rajendralal Mitra was the director of the ‘Wadia Institute’ for 25 years.
Birth and education
King Rajendralal Mitra was born on 16 February 1822 in Kolkata. There were great obstacles in his education. Admitted to medical college at the age of 15. There he earned a great fame from his ability in four years of studies, but could not take a degree for some reasons. Then he started studies of law, but the examination could not be done here due to the prescription out. But with his studies, he gained proficiency in Sanskrit, Persian, Bangla and English languages and became Assistant Minister of the famous organization ‘Asiatic Society’ in 1849. The store of books and pandalipis here opened to study them. He was the director of the ‘Wadia Institute’ for 25 years after staying in the society for 10 years. Nevertheless, he remained in touch with the society.
Writing work
Rajendralal Mitra continued to find his action in the entire period of life and to make it available to the readers. He published lists of society pandalipis and composed standard texts of various subjects. They have some notable texts-

Rajendralal Mitra was a respected member of several institutions. He was the President of the ‘Asiatic Society’ in 1885. He expressed his views at the Kolkata Congress of 1886. Edited letters called ‘Vividhartha’ and ‘Mystery Reference’.
Historian
Rajendralal Mitra was a loyal intellectual and in the true sense. They said that- “If the meaning of the national love should be taken that we should love such a good or bad of our past, then I bow to such patriotism from a distance.” Due to their merit, the government earlier honored him by giving him the title of ‘Raibahadur’ and ‘Raja’ in 1888.
Death
Rajendralal Mitra died on 27 July 1891.
