Ranthanath Ramachandra Diwakar (English: Ranganath Ramachandra Diwakar, born- 30 September, 1894; died- 15 January, 1990) was a politician of the Indian National Congress. You were also known as a writer. He was appointed a member of the Constituent Assembly from Maharashtra. After India’s independence, R. R. Diwakar was appointed ‘Information and Broadcasting Minister’ in the cabinet of Jawaharlal Nehru.
R. R. Diwakar was born on September 30, 1894. From the beginning he was interested in writing. He made many efforts to unify the Kannada linguistic areas. During the freedom movement R. R. Diwakar joined the Indian National Congress. Diwakar ji served as ‘Union Minister of Information and Broadcasting’ (from April 1, 1949 to April 15, 1952) in the Nehru Cabinet. On 3 April 1952, R. R. Diwakar was elected as a member of the Rajya Sabha from Maharashtra, but resigned on 13 June 1952. After this, within two days he was made the Governor of Bihar. After 1968 R. R. Diwakar stayed away from politics and worked as an author of several books in English, Kannada and Hindi.
