He is the son of former Chief Minister of Haryana Rao Birendra Singh and a descendant of freedom fighter Rao Tularam. Whereas the responsibility of ‘Minister of State for Chemicals and Fertilizers’ has been withdrawn from them. Rao Indrajit Singh started his political career from Haryana in 1977. He became an MP from Mahindargarh in 1998. Then he was also selected from 2004. He won from Gurgaon seat in 2009, 2014 and 2019 and reached Parliament. Before 2014, Rao Indrajit Singh was a politician of the Congress, but later joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.

Gurgaon MP Rao Inderjit Singh was born on 11 February 1950 in Rewari, Haryana. He is the son of former Haryana Chief Minister Rao Birendra Singh. His mother’s name is Rani Chandraprabha. Rao Indrajit Singh from Delhi University from B.A. And has earned a degree of advocacy. Between 1977 and 1996, he has been a member of the Haryana Legislative Assembly four times. Manita Singh is his wife and he is the father of two daughters.

Rao Indrajit Singh was elected in the Lok Sabha elections in 1998. He was a member of the Central Science and Technology Committee from 1998 to 1999. In 2004, he was elected in the Lok Sabha elections for the second time. Rao Indrajit Singh, from 2004 to 2006, was the Union Minister of State for Foreign Affairs. He was the Union Minister of State for Defense Material Construction from 2006 to 2009. He was elected for the third time in the 2009 Lok Sabha elections. On September 23, 2013, he resigned from the Congress and joined the Bharatiya Janata Party.[1]

Political journey

Rao Indrajit Singh was elected to the Haryana Legislative Assembly for the first time in 1977. This was followed by MLA in 1982, 1991, 2000. From 1986-1987, he took over the post of Food and Supplies (Swantatra Charge) in the Government of Haryana. In 1991–1996, he became the Cabinet Minister of Environment, Forest and Medical and Technical Education in the Government of Haryana. In 1998, he was elected from Mahandragarh for the first time for the 12th Lok Sabha. In 2004, he was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha and then reached the Lok Sabha. He was the Minister of State for External Affairs between May 2004–2006. After this, he was the Minister of State for Defense from February 2006 and 2009. He was elected for the third time in the 15th Lok Sabha elections in 2009. Resigned from Lok Sabha membership on 5 April 2014. In 2014, won the election for the fourth time on the BJP ticket in the 16th Lok Sabha elections and took the responsibility of Minister of State for Defense with the Minister of Plan (Independent Charge), Numeric and Program Implementation between May 27, 2014 and November 9, 2014. After the reshuffle in the cabinet, the ministry of numeric and program implementation decreased. Rao Indrajit Singh Yojana (Independent Charge), City Development, Housing and Poverty Alleviation was the Minister of State from July 2016 to September 3, 2017.
