Rohit Tokas (English: Rohit Tokas, born – 1 August 1993, Munirka, New Delhi) is an Indian boxer. He has won a bronze medal for India at the Commonwealth Games, 2022 held in Birmingham, England. From the beginning of the tournament, Rohit Tokas had raised medal hopes with his strong game. He lived up to the expectations and won the Commonwealth medal. However, Rohit Tokas had to settle for a bronze medal after losing to Zambia’s Stephen Zimba by a 2-3 split decision in the semi-final match, but he has increased the appetite of his fans in the future with his pace.
Rohit Tokas was born on August 1, 1993 in Munirka, New Delhi. He is also fondly known as ‘Jerry’. His father’s name is Preet Singh Tokas. Mother’s name is Anita Tokas. Rohit Tokas has studied from Delhi College of Arts and Commerce, Delhi University. He is currently employed in the Indian Railways. Rohit Tokas competes in the welterweight category.
Rohit Tokas’ father Preet Singh Tokas was also a wrestler. Rohit Tokas started boxing from his college days. He won first place in the 2010 Youth Men’s National Boxing Championship.[1]
He won a silver medal at the 2011 Cuban Youth Olympics.
Rohit Tokas won a bronze medal in the first Dr. B.R. Ambedkar All India Men’s Boxing Tournament in 2012. Later in 2013, he won a gold medal in the All India Inter-University Games.
In 2017, he won a bronze medal at the King’s Cup in Thailand.
He won a silver medal at the inaugural Elite Men’s National Boxing Championships in 2016.
In 2015, he again won a bronze medal at the King’s Cup in Thailand.
Won bronze medal at the 2018 India Open in New Delhi. Won gold at the 3rd Elite Men’s National Championship the same year.
Rohit Tokas later won a bronze medal at the Makran Cup in 2019.
Won Gold Medal in All India Inter Railway Championship in April 2022.
