History News Desk !! R. VS Perry Shastri (English: RVS Peri Sastri, born 11 February, 1929; Death- 25 November 1990) was the former Chief Election Commissioner of India. On this post, he lived till his death from January 1, 1986.

The President dissolved it on 1 November 1990 even before the new system functioned smoothly. R. VS Elections were held in Jammu and Kashmir on 23 March 1987 under the supervision of Perry Shastri.
