Do not do these things on Sakat Chaturthi –
According to religious beliefs, one should avoid wearing black colored clothes on the day of Sakat Chaturthi. It is believed that wearing clothes of this color is considered inauspicious. Apart from this, the fast of Sakat Chaturthi is broken after giving water to the moon, hence be careful while giving water to the moon. While offering water to the Moon, water should not splash on the feet. It is considered inauspicious.
Do worship Lord Ganesha on this day but do not offer Tulsi or Ketaki flowers to him even by mistake. It is believed that doing so is inauspicious. On the day of Sakat Chaturthi, one should not even by mistake use the broken idol of Lord Ganesha in the worship. Doing this constitutes a sin.
