History News Desk !! Syed Muzaffar Hussain Burney (English: Sayed Muzaffar Hussain Burney, born 14 August, 1924; death- 7 February 2014) was an Indian Administrative Service officer of Orissa Cadre. Later, he became the principal secretary of the state. He was also the Governor of Himachal Pradesh, Haryana, Manipur and Tripura and Nagaland. From 1990–1995, Syed Muzaffar Hussain Burney was the Vice Chancellor of Jamia Millia Islamia University in Delhi. He was also the chairman of the ‘National Minorities Commission’ from 1988–1992.
Syed Muzaffar Hussain was Burney Tripura, former Governor of Nagaland, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh and Chairman of the National Minorities Commission of India. He was an alumnus of Bareilly College, Uttar Pradesh. In 1981 and 1984, he took over as the Governor of Nagaland, Tripura and Manipur and was the Governor of Himachal Pradesh and Haryana from 1987 to 1988. Syed Muzaffar Hussain Burney was also the chairman of the fourth and fifth Minorities Commission from 1988 to 1992. He was also the Chancellor of Delhi -based Jamia Millia Islamia University from 1990 to 1995. On 7 February 2014, he died at the age of 90 due to old age.
