The British police has busted a gang of people of Indian origin. The members of this gang were involved in drug smuggling. According to the police, the method used by them to hide the drugs was different. Regarding the items found with the arrested people, the police said that these packets of drugs were kept inside chicken frozen with ice between several lids. When they were asked to open them, they said that it was only for eating, but when asked strictly, the whole secret was revealed. If the charges are proved against the arrested members of the gang, they will have to face a jail sentence of up to two years.
Last week, a 39-year-old Indian-origin man was jailed at Birmingham Crown Court for being involved in a conspiracy to supply class A banned drugs and money laundering. Later, the court sentenced this man named Maninder Dosanjh to 16 years. West Midlands Police told the court that they have recovered 400 kg of high purity cocaine as well as illegal cash worth GBP1.6 million from these people. Police said that they have completely dismantled the gang and the people involved in this gang have been arrested and sent to jail.
Talking to the media, the police said that we believe that they are responsible for importing hundreds of kilograms of cocaine. They earned a huge amount of money from this imported cocaine and used it in illegal businesses. They had hidden this cash inside the tyres and machines of vehicles, which the police recovered during the raid. Apart from this, the police also recovered 225 kilograms of cocaine being sent to Australia.
Police said the gang was responsible for a huge amount of drug consumption in the UK and abroad. It has ruined many lives and stigmatised many communities. The gang communicated with each other using social media platforms, an encrypted messaging app which was believed to be inaccessible to law enforcement. It has since been shut down as part of a major operation across the UK.
