The house where the Akhand Jyot is burning should not be left alone nor should the door of that house be locked.
To maintain the purity and sanctity of the Akhand Jyot, one should not put Tamasic things in the house even by mistake during the nine days of Navratri. Apart from this, one should also maintain distance from the smell and sight of Tamasic food during this period.
