Make sure to clean the place of worship and follow discipline during worship. By getting up on time and worshiping Mata Rani with devotion, the Goddess becomes pleased.
It is auspicious to light Akhand Jyot for nine days during Navratri. If you are lighting a flame then you should not leave the house empty and the unbroken flame should not be extinguished. Do not consume tamasic food even by mistake during the nine days of Navratri. These things should not be brought home on this day nor should other family members consume them.
During Navratri, keep distance from negativity and do not indulge in any kind of argument or fight. Avoid getting angry during this time. It is important to follow celibacy during Navratri and nails and hair should not be cut during this period.
