Shibu Soren has been a six-time MP from Dumka Lok Sabha seat of Jharkhand. He has been a member of the Seventh, Ninth, Tenth, Eleventh, Thirteenth and Fifteenth Lok Sabha. He has been the Chief Minister of Jharkhand three times. Apart from state politics, he also has an important contribution in central politics.
Introduction
Shibu Soren was born on January 11, 1944 in Namra village Hazaribagh, Bihar. His schooling also took place here. He got married soon after completing his schooling and decided to help his father in farming work. Mrs. Rupi Soren is his wife. Shibu Soren has three sons – Durga, Hemant and Basant and a daughter Anjali.

Shibu’s political career started in 1970. On January 23, 1975, he allegedly killed “outsiders” in Chirudih village of Jamtara district.[1] Had led a violent mob to drive away the 11 people were killed in this incident. He was accused of murder along with 68 others. Shibu stood for the Lok Sabha elections for the first time in 1977 but faced defeat. His dream was fulfilled in 1986.
