Do not insult anyone on this day and do not let bad thoughts arise in your mind. Along with this, one should avoid using abusive language and getting angry. Poor people who come to your home should not be sent back empty-handed on this day, rather donate something to them. One should not go on a deserted road at night on Amavasya Tithi and neither should one pass alone through a crematorium etc. Doing so brings negativity in life.
