It is believed that by doing this one gets the blessings of ancestors. This year Somvati Amavasya is being celebrated on 30th December i.e. today. In such a situation, today we are telling you through this article what tasks should not be done on the last Amavasya of the year, otherwise Lord Shiva and ancestors may get angry, so let us know.
Do not do these things on Somvati Amavasya –
Amavasya Tithi is dedicated to the ancestors, hence, on this day, Tarpan and Pind Daan are done for the peace of the ancestors’ souls, hence on this day one should not speak ill of the ancestors even by mistake. Apart from this, no auspicious work should be done today. By doing this the ancestors may get angry. On Amavasya day, animals like dog, cow, crow should not be troubled. Rather, they should be fed as part of their ancestors.
One should not consume tamasic things even by mistake on Amavasya Tithi. Along with meat and alcohol, one should avoid eating things like radish, greens and lentils on Amavasya. It is believed that consuming these things on this day does not give the full results of worship. One should avoid washing hair on Amavasya day. Hair and nails should not be cut on this day. This affects the negative energy.
