Astrology News Desk: In Sanatan Dharma, Amavasya Tithi is said to be very special, which falls once in every month. According to the Panchang, Bhadrapad month is going on right now and the Amavasya of this month is known as Bhadrapad Amavasya, which falls today i.e. on Monday, 2 September. Due to Amavasya falling on Monday, it is known as Somvati Amavasya. It is considered auspicious to take bath, donate, worship and do penance on this day. It is believed that performing Shradh Tarpan and Pinddaan of ancestors on Amavasya Tithi brings blessings of ancestors. Along with this, there is also a provision of worshiping Lord Shiva, Mata Panarvati, Mata Lakshmi and Shri Hari Vishnu on Amavasya Tithi.
If one takes a bath in the holy river Ganga on this day, all sins are destroyed. Apart from this, worshipping the Peepal tree and doing 108 Parikramas on this day is also considered good. Amavasya Tithi is considered good for charity and pious deeds. It is believed that doing so brings happiness, peace and prosperity in the family. But along with this, if Pitradev ki Aarti and Shiv Aarti are recited on Amavasya Tithi today, then one gets the blessings of ancestors and with the grace of Shiva, all the problems are removed and Pitra Dosh also ends.
