Srinivas Kumar Sinha (English: Srinivas Kumar Sinha, born 1926, Bihar; died 17 November 2016, Delhi) was an Indian military officer. He was a Lieutenant General awarded ‘Param Vishisht Seva Medal’. After his retirement, he served as the Governor of Assam, Jammu and Kashmir and Arunachal Pradesh.

Srinivas Kumar Sinha was born in Gaya, Bihar in 1926 AD.
His father’s name was Mithilesh Kumar Sinha, who was the first Indian Inspector-General of Police of Bihar state.
In 1943, at the age of 17, Srinivas Kumar Sinha graduated from Patna University and then joined the army.
When Pakistani tribals attacked in the year 1947, Srinivas Kumar Sinha was also included in the first batch of Indian soldiers to enter Jammu and Kashmir.
In 1983, when Indira Gandhi’s government, ignoring his seniority, appointed General Arun Shridhar Vaidya as the Chief of the Indian Army, he resigned from the army.
Srinivas Kumar Sinha was appointed India’s Ambassador to Nepal in 1990.
He also wrote five books, out of which the autobiography named ‘A Soldier Recalls’ is his main book.
Srinivas Kumar Sinha died on 17 November 2016 in Delhi. He is survived by his wife, a son and three daughters. His son IFS officer Y. Of. This is Sinha.
In 1984, Srinivas Kumar Sinha also tried his luck in politics by contesting from Patna Lok Sabha seat, but he lost the election.
