History News Desk !!! Vijay Bahuguna (English: Vijay Bahuguna, born- 28 February, 1947, Allahabad) is an Indian politician, who is from the Indian National Congress. He has been the seventh Chief Minister of Uttarakhand state from 13 March 2012 to 31 January 2014. Vijay Bahuguna is one of the politicians who came out of the family tradition in the Congress. His initial career was as a advocate and judge and after that he started the political innings.
Introduction
Vijay Bahuguna was born on 28 February, 1947. His father’s name was Hemvatinandan Bahuguna and mother Kamala Bahuguna. Vijay Bahuguna has obtained BA and LLB degrees from Allahabad University. He has been a judge in the Allahabad High Court and the Mumbai High Court. He is survived by two sons and a daughter. Her sister is Rita Bahuguna Joshi, who herself is a famous female politician.
Political journey
Vijay Bahuguna, who left the judicial service and entered active politics, was made the Deputy Chairman of the Uttarakhand Planning Commission during the tenure of Chief Minister Narayan Dutt Tiwari in the year 2002. In 2007, he was elected to the 14th Lok Sabha. In 2009, he was elected from Tehri Garhwal Lok Sabha seat for the 15th Lok Sabha. He has also been a member of several parliamentary committees.
While being a judge in Maharashtra, he formed the idea of entering politics and returned to Allahabad and stepped into politics. In Uttar Pradesh, he failed to leave some impact. He then returned to Uttarakhand and became a senior Congress leader. In 1997, he was made a member of the ‘All India Congress Committee’. His father was among the big leaders of the late Hemwatinandan Bahuguna Congress who, despite being within the Congress, never did the full dedication before the power of the then Prime Minister Indira Gandhi. He was one of the few leaders who themselves had great support.
