According to the story, Lord Rama went to the forest for 14 years with his wife Sita and younger brother Laxman in Treta Yuga and started living there. During his stay in the forest, one day Ravana took Mata Sita from Chalki and took her to Lanka. Lord Rama got distraught after the defeat of Mother Sita. After this, he started searching for Mother Sita with Anuj Laxman in the forest.
Lord Rama got Jatayu after going some distance. After this, God killed a demon named Kabandh inside the forest. Then he was befriended by his monkey Raj Sugriva.
