Kiren Rijiju (English: Kiren Rijiju, born November 19, 1971, Kameng district, Himachal Pradesh) is a prominent leader of the Bharatiya Janata Party. He is one of those BJP leaders who gave seats to Bharatiya Janata Party in North East. In the 17th Lok Sabha, he was made ‘Minister of Youth Affairs, Sports and Minority’.
But after the expansion and reshuffle in the cabinet of Prime Minister Narendra Modi on July 7, 2021, Kiren Rijiju has now been given the responsibility of ‘Ministry of Law and Justice’. Kiren Rijiju tries to ensure that the kind of discrimination faced by this area earlier does not happen again. From Arunachal West, BJP had placed its bet on Kiren Rijiju and he won the election by a margin of 1,74,843 votes. From here, Kiren Rijiju got 2,25,796 votes, while his rival Congress candidate Nabam Tuki got only 50,953 votes. He was made the Union Minister of State for Home in the Modi government formed in 2014.
Kiren Rijiju completed his graduation and law studies from Delhi. In view of his contribution to the party, after being elected MP from Arunachal Pradesh, Prime Minister Narendra Modi gave him the important responsibility of Minister of State for Home.
Kiren Rijiju was born on November 19, 1971 in Nafra, West Kameng district of Arunachal Pradesh. His father Rinchin Kharu has been a well-known leader. His mother’s name is Chirai Rijiju.
Kiren Rijiju was elected MP to the 16th Lok Sabha from Arunachal West, defeating the Congress candidate.
Kiren Rijiju was also elected MP for the fourteenth Lok Sabha.
In 2004, he was given a Lok Sabha ticket from Arunachal West and became an MP for the first time.
He won the hearts of big leaders with his presence and work in Parliament. He was made a member of many committees.
He lost the election in 2009, but in the 2014 Lok Sabha elections, Kiren Rijiju once again won and became an MP.
Kiren Rijiju also raised a strong voice against the discrimination being faced by the people of North East in Delhi NCR. After joining the government in 2014, he formed the Bezbarua Committee to give suggestions on the problems related to the people of North East.
