Satinder Sartaj’s real name is Satinder Pal Singh. He was born in Bajrawar village of Hoshiarpur, Punjab. He studied in the government primary school of his village. It is said that a child’s future starts appearing in the cradle itself. Something similar happened with Satinder. Satinder was very interested in music since childhood, which is why he started performing in Bal Sabhas from the third class itself.
Taught music for 6 years at Punjab University
Satinder, who was interested in music since childhood, chose the path of music even after growing up. After this, he graduated with honors in music from Government College Hoshiarpur. He also completed a 5-year diploma in classical music from Sangeet Visharad, Jalandhar. After completing graduation and diploma, Satinder turned to Punjab University, Chandigarh for Masters in Music. After Masters and M.Phil, he completed PhD with specialization in Sufi poetry. To understand the deep ideas of Sufi poetry better, he did a certificate course and diploma in Persian language. Satinder took a doctorate degree and taught in the music department of Punjab University for 6 years.
