Recently, Elon Musk’s company has done a great miracle. The rocket of Musk’s company SpaceX went into space and returned. This is a big feat in the world of space launching. An Indian also contributed in accomplishing this feat. The name of this Indian is Sanjeev Sharma who is the principal engineer in Elon Musk’s company SpaceX. Sanjeev Sharma once worked in Indian Railways. His journey from here to SpaceX is not only surprising but also inspiring. Sanjeev Sharma had reached IIT Roorkee for studies. However, according to his LinkedIn post, he had to leave IIT after eight months to join the SCR Academy of Railways. After this he joined Indian Railways. Here Sanjeev Sharma started working as a divisional mechanical engineer. Sanjeev Sharma continued his work with full dedication and after getting promotion, he reached the post of Deputy Chief Mechanical Engineer. Sanjeev Sharma worked in Railways for 11 years. But after this there was a big twist in his career.
Sanjeev Sharma left the railway job. After this he decided to study again. Sanjeev took admission in the University of Colorado Boulder. The year was 2002 and the course in which Sanjeev took admission was MS programme. The course was completed and in the year 2003, he started working in Segate Technology Company. However he did not stop his studies. In the year 2008, Sanjeev reached Minnesota University and obtained MS Management of Technology degree there.
Sanjeev Sharma’s passion bore fruit and the biggest opportunity of his life came in 2013. This year Sanjeev joined Elon Musk’s company SpaceX as a dynamics engineer. Sanjeev got involved here and there with programs like Structural Dynamics, Falcon 9 Rocket Booster, Drone Delivery System and Starship Dynamics. Today many people are inspired by Sanjeev Sharma.
