First Indian to perform in Royal Albert Hall
Lata Mangeshkar cannot be called an example of women power. In 1974, she became the first Indian to perform at the Royal Albert Hall. Swara Kokila Lata Mangeshkar received the Filmfare Award for Best Playback Singer in 1970. In 1972, she was awarded the National Film Award for Best playback singer for the songs of Film Introduction. In 1974, she was awarded the National Film Award for Best Playback Singer for the songs of the film Kora Paper. This was followed by the best singer award for Jait Ray Jait in 1977 and Dadasaheb Phalke Award in 1989. In 1990, she was awarded the National Film Award for Best Playback Singer for the songs of Film but of the songs.
