Yash did not like sitting at the shop at all, when his mother came to know about this, she said, ‘You go to Mumbai, you are not made to handle a sweet shop.’ A week before Yash Johar went to Mumbai, his mother had stolen jewelry and some money from the house. The security guard was suspected and beaten up, but Yash’s mother was trying to arrange money to send her son to Mumbai.

Not only this, Madhubala was so impressed with Yash Johar that she even took him to her garden. After this, Yash got a job in the office. Talking about film career, Yash Johar made his first film as a producer, ‘Dostana’ with Amitabh Bachchan and Shatrughan Sinha.

This film of his was a hit, but after this, not many of his films were successful. That is why he used to do import-export business along with film production. After this, Yash joined Dev Anand’s production house as a co-producer. During this time he made excellent films like Guide, Jewel Thief, Prem Pujari, Hare Rama Hare Krishna. In 1977, he started his production company Dharma Productions. Yash said goodbye to this world on 26 June 2004 at the age of 74.
