At least 18 people of the same family drowned in the sudden flood in the Swat river of Pakistan’s Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province on Friday, out of which the bodies of four people have been recovered, while the search for others is on. Rescue operation officials gave this information.
A press release here quoted the director general of ‘Rescue -1122’ Shah Fahad as saying, “Rescue operations are going on at five different places and 80 personnel of ‘Rescue 1122’ are involved in the campaign.”
According to preliminary information, the family was part of a group of tourists who came to visit the region and due to heavy rains, the water level of the river was trapped in it.
The Swat River flows here in the northern region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province of Pakistan. The authorities said that a large search operation to find other missing people is still going on.
