NAPEDO: 3 days after the earthquake in Myanmar, the fierce foul smell of corpses buried in the debris has spread all around. This has brought a big challenge to the team running the rescue operation. At the same time, the risk of people coming in the grip of epidemic has increased. As time is passing, the hopes of getting the people buried in the debris are getting low. Many teams from India have also reached Myanmar to run rescue operations and treat the injured.

The smell of dead bodies on Sunday was spread on the streets of the second largest city of Myanmar, as people are working with hands to remove debris in the hope of finding a living person. More than 1,600 people have been killed and countless people who are being searched in the fierce earthquake that occurred two days ago.

7.7 magnitude earthquake caused huge devastation

On Friday afternoon, there was a 7.7 magnitude earthquake, which was near Mandalay. Due to this, the earth started to shake like a swing. Many buildings fell. During this period, all the basic and historical structure like the city airports were damaged. Relief work is being disrupted due to the challenges of working in the country amidst broken roads, fallen bridges, disturbances in communication system and civil war.

41 ° C mercury in Myanmar

The search for the survivors by local residents is mainly made without the help of heavy equipment, which are removed from the hands and shovels in the heat of 41 ° C (106 fahinheit), only sometimes tracked excavators appear. However, now a lot of assistance has been reached from India. NDRF teams have started rescue operations. (AP)
