Students in america
Indian Students Trouble in America: A new bill has been introduced in the US Parliament. The bill, which was introduced in Parliament, has raised concerns among international students, especially science, technology, engineering and maths (Stem). In this bill, there is a demand to abolish the optional Practical Training (OPT) scheme. Under this scheme, students can work in America for three years after completing their studies.
America may have to leave
Eastern Chothani, the founder of the Immigration Law firm Lawquest, said on the whole matter, “If the bill passes, the opt may suddenly end and there will be no option to go on another work visa. Students may have to leave America immediately.” According to the Economic Times report, the move may affect the career of thousands of Indian students in the US. Especially for students who are dependent on OPT for long -term employment visas.
Trump government is strict
However, there have been attempts to eliminate Opt before. This time the bill has come at a time when there is an atmosphere against immigrants in America. Since becoming President, Donald Trump seems strict in visa rules and strict in taking out illegal migrants from the country.
What are students doing
According to an Economic Times report, many Indian students have canceled to India on vacation that they may not get entry back in America. All the students have been applying for jobs since the introduction of a new bill in the US Parliament. Students are doing this so that they can shift on it as soon as the draw of H-1B visa comes out. This visa is usually sponsored by American and Indian tech companies.
