Bangkok: Due to the ongoing ceasefire in Israel Hamas, the order of the release of hostages continues. Five workers from Thailand, who were released after being held hostage for more than a year in Gaza, reached Bangkok on Sunday. After meeting his family members, his tears came out. The release of hostage and prisoners continues in Gaza on January 19 after the ceasefire was implemented in both sides.
The five workers from Thailand, Sarusak Rumno, Vachara Sri Aaun, Sathiyan Suvanaakham, Pongsak Thana and Bannavat Saithao were released on 30 January. This was the second group of people from Thailand released since the conflict between Israel and Hamas began. Earlier, 23 citizens of Thailand were released under the first ceasefire agreement in November 2023. The agreement was reached between Thailand and Hamas with the help of Qatar and Iran. All five people were first examined in a hospital in Tel Aviv. According to Thailand’s Embassy in Tel Aviv, the visit was arranged by the Israeli government.
The total hostages included 31 citizens of Thailand
The extremists of Hamas kidnapped 31 Thai citizens during the attack on Southern Israel on 7 October 2023. These agricultural workers from Thailand lived in Kibutzim and outer towns of Southern Israel and Hamas militants first attacked those places. Since then all these hostages were in the clutches of Hamas. (AP)
