Nairobi: 5,000 ants have been recovered from 2 Belgian boys living in Kenya. Now these boys have been fined $ 7,700 for violating wildlife conservation laws. The court has also given the option to the boys to stay in jail for 12 months for not paying the fine. There is a maximum imprisonment of 12 months on violation of wildlife laws.
Arrested from guest house
Officials said ants were recovered from the boys and it is believed that they were to be smuggled into European and Asian markets. Smuggling of Kenya wildlife species is common.
