Russia expels 6 British diplomats.
Moscow: Russia has expelled 6 British diplomats on charges of spying on the country. This has given a big blow to Britain. Russia’s Federal Security Service on Friday accused six British diplomats of spying and said that it has been decided to withdraw the accreditation given to them. Russian state TV ‘FSB’ quoted a security service official as saying that they would be expelled. ‘FSB’ claimed that it has received documents in this regard.
Documents obtained by the FSB show that they were sent by a division of the British Foreign Ministry “whose main task was to impose a strategic defeat on our country” and for this they were “engaged in intelligence gathering and subversive activities”. Russia’s move comes two days after the US and Britain pledged to send $ 1.5 billion in aid to Ukraine. At the same time, Ukrainian officials have vowed to use missiles received from Western countries to target deep interior areas of Russia. The British Embassy in Moscow did not say anything immediately when Associated Press (AP) requested a comment in this regard. (Language)
