Karachi: In the restless Balochistan province of Pakistan, suspected militants took six people from Punjab province down from a passenger bus and shot and killed them. The officials gave this information on Thursday. According to officials, the five passengers died on the spot, while another died later. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Hafeez Baloch said that the attack took place in Gwadar district of the province when armed men stopped a passenger bus going from Gwadar to Karachi near Kalamat area on Oramara highway late Wednesday. On Thursday, a bomb blast occurred near a police vehicle in the market area of Quetta, killing two people and injuring 17.
It is being told that the gunmen removed some passengers from the bus and shot six people. Baloch said that five passengers were killed on the spot, while a person survived died in the hospital on Thursday morning. He said, “Armed people killed six passengers after examining the identity cards of the passengers and took three others with them. He said that all the victims were from Punjab province. At present, no group has taken responsibility for the attack. The militants also stopped three trucks carrying manure from the Gwadar port by blocking the road and set fire to them.
PM Shahbaz Sharif condemned the attack
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif condemned the attack on the passenger bus and directed the concerned officials to prosecute the responsible people. The ‘Don’ newspaper quoted President Asif Ali Zardari as saying, “Terrorists are enemies of the development of the country and the prosperity of Balochistan. They cannot see progress in Balochistan. “Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti condemned the incident, saying,” It is a heinous and cowardly act to remove innocent travelers from a bus and killing them on an identity basis. “
The attack on bus passengers took place at a time on Wednesday when there is a tense situation in the province, as earlier this month, the restricted separatist organization Baloch Liberation Army (BLA) rebels kidnapped the Jafar Express carrying 440 passengers. 26 hostages, including 18 security personnel, were killed in this kidnapping.
