New York: A suspicious person was seen roaming with a knife at Brooklyn station in the USA on Sunday. To control the suspect, the officers started firing. While firing at the suspect, passengers also got shot unknowingly. The officers told that the suspect, a police officer and two other people were injured in the incident. They told that when police officers stopped the man for not paying the fare, he threatened the officers by pointing a knife at them. They told that a 49-year-old passenger was admitted to the hospital in critical condition. The man was shot in the head.

There was chaos at the station

A video posted by a passenger shows passengers running around in panic during the firing. When police rushed to help the injured, a policeman suddenly realized that he too had been shot. Interim Police Commissioner Thomas Donlon promised a thorough investigation into the case and held the accused fully responsible for the incident. Donlon was serving as police commissioner only for Friday.

The accused threatened the police

Department chief Jeffrey Madre said, “The incident happened on the platform of Sutter Avenue station after 3 pm.” He said, “When the officers stopped the suspect for not paying the fare, he waved a knife towards them. He threatened the officers and said that if they did not stop chasing him, he would kill them all.” He said that several bullets were fired at the 37-year-old man, but they were unable to catch him. Finally, the man was injured by police bullets, who has been admitted to the hospital and his condition is stable. A 26-year-old woman has also been injured in this incident. (Input – Agency)
