UK school amazing decision

A school in Lincolnshire, Britain, has taken a strange decision, under which the school has removed all the mirror from its washroom. People are surprised to know the reason for this. Because the school says that the students were spending a lot of time to gather in the washroom and in groups. The school’s headmaster Grant Edgar said that the mirrors were causing trouble for some students and have negative impact on time ban. However, students requiring medical requirement may request mirror from reception. Parents have responded to this decision of the school. According to the BBC, some people have described the ban as ‘strange’ and ‘excessive’.

Ban on mobile in UK school-colleges

In 2023, Christopher Whitehead Language College at Worster replaced mirrors in girls’ toilets with posters labeled as’ harmful drugs’. The school faced strong criticism when comparing lipstick with rigorous medicines and eventually changed its decision.

At the same time, Catherine Birbal Singh, Principal of Misle’s Community School in Vambali, who is known for her strict policies, banned prayers during school hours and advocated nationwide ban on smartphones in schools.

At present, 11 percent of secondary schools in Britain have implemented some type of smartphone ban.

Eaton College has recently introduced a policy providing basic phones to 9th grade students that allow only calls and text and can be used only outside school time.

Similarly, the Ormiston Academy Trust, which oversees more than 35,000 students, has banned the phone in classrooms citing excessive use of smartphones and its relationship with poor mental health.
