A stampede broke out during the distribution of donations and food items at two events of the Nigeria Christmas Celebration. The death toll in this has reached 32. Police gave this information on Sunday. He told that suddenly a huge crowd gathered to get food items and due to stampede many people fell down, due to which many people died.
The first incident occurred in the town of Okija in south-eastern Anambra state, where 22 people died, police spokesman Tochukwu Ikenga said. On the occasion of Christmas, a philanthropist had organized food distribution in Okija, during which a stampede broke out in the crowd. Additionally, a church in the capital Abuja organized a program to distribute food and clothing. During this period, ten people have been confirmed dead in the accident that occurred due to stampede.
