A few hours after India started the operation, the Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson expressed concern over the current situation after the firing targeting nine terrorist sites inside Pakistan and urged the two countries to work in the widespread interest of peace and stability, remain calm, restraint and avoid taking such action, which could lead to further complex.
A spokesman for the Chinese Foreign Ministry said that he opposed all forms of terrorism. The spokesperson further said that India and Pakistan will always remain each other’s neighbors and they are also neighbors of China.
In a statement, the Chinese Foreign Ministry said, “We are concerned about the current situation. India and Pakistan are neighbors and will always be. Both of them are also neighbors of China. China opposes all kinds of terrorism. We both urge both sides to work in the widespread interest of peace and stability, to be calm, restraint and avoid taking such action which can make the situation more determined.”
This statement of the Chinese Foreign Ministry has come in view of Indian attacks under ‘Operation Sindoor’, which targeted nine terrorist camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir.
India’s Defense Ministry said that the action was a direct response to the terrorist attack in Pahalgam on 22 April in which 25 Indian citizens and a Nepali citizens were killed and many others were injured.
China urged India and Pakistan to work and restrain in the broader interest of peace and stability.
The Defense Ministry said in its statement, “Some time ago, the Indian Armed Forces started ‘Operation Sindoor’, under which terrorist infrastructure was targeted in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Jammu and Kashmir, where terrorist attacks against India were planned and directed.”
It said, “Our action has been focused, measured and non-gross in nature. No Pakistani military hideout has been targeted. India has shown considerable restraint in the way of selection and execution of goals.” Sources told ANI that the Indian armed forces successfully targeted nine terrorist bases using special precision weapons in the coordinated operation, out of which four were in Pakistan in Bahawalpur, Muridke and Sialkot and five Pakistan -occupied Jammu and Kashmir (POJK).
The operation was jointly carried out by the Indian Army, Navy and Air Force, including the army and military forces. Sources told ANI that Prime Minister Narendra Modi was constantly keeping an eye on Operation Sindoor throughout the night.
Sources further stated that attacks on all nine locations were successful. The Indian Army selected places to target the top leaders of Jaish-e-Mohammed (JEM) and Lashkar-e-Taiba (LET) involved in sponsoring terrorist activities in India.
