Former Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif
Lahore: After the train hijack incident, there is a possibility of major military operations in Balochistan by the Pakistani Army. Meanwhile, former Prime Minister of Pakistan and President of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Nawaz Sharif has spoken about a political solution regarding Balochistan. He has also promised to play an active role in the matter.
Nawaz Sharif will play his role
Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif spoke to the media after meeting the National Party President and former Chief Minister of Balochistan, Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch at his residence in Jati Umra. Earlier, the two leaders also discussed the situation in Balochistan. Sharif said that he would play his political and democratic role in promoting peace in Balochistan.
Sharif will visit Balochistan
Nawaz Sharif said, “I will visit Balochistan and meet the angry people there.” The issue of Balochistan is political and it should be resolved in political ways. ”Abdul Malik said that Nawaz Sharif’s role is important in view of Balochistan’s current situation.
The army chief said this
Sharif’s statement came at a time when Army Chief Syed Asim Munir recently assured foreign investors that Pakistan would provide strong security to protect their interests amidst increasing unrest in Balochistan. Balochistan, bordering the border of Iran and Afghanistan, has been a stronghold of violent rebellion for a long time. (Language)
