Air Arabia restored flights from Sharjah to Damascus

Following the recent regional operations adjustment period, a low-level airline Air Arabia at Sharjah has announced to resume its direct flight service between Sharjah and Damascus. The airline said on Monday that double-day (twice a day) non-stop service will be restored from 10 July between Sharjah International Airport and Damascus International Airport.

According to Air Arabia, the re -beginning of flights to Damascus reflects its constant commitment to strengthen the regional air connectivity. Significantly, due to the long -running civil war in Syria, flights on this route were suspended for more than a decade.

Air Arabia, which operates the Airbus A320 and A321 aircraft, re -launched flights to Damascus early this year, which became possible after more than a decade gap. The United Arab Emirates General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) announced the restoration of air flights between the United Arab Emirates and the Syrian Arab Republic in April this year.

In addition, the route holds special significance to serve the Syrian migrant community in the area and meet the growing journey demand between the United Arab Emirates and Syria.

Air Arabia Group Chief Executive Officer Adel Al Ali said, “We are happy to resume flights between Sharjah and Damascus after many years of interval.” This confirms our continuous commitment to strengthening regional air connectivity.

He further said, this route is particularly important to serve the Syrian migrant community in the area and meet the increasing demand for travel between UAE and Syria. By launching double-day service, our aim is to provide more convenience and flexibility to both business and tourism passengers, as well as promote trade, tourism and cultural exchange between the two countries.
