Alien Planet: Is there any life elsewhere in the universe other than the earth. Often such questions have been coming to mind. But, now the answers that this question has received has increased such possibilities that life can be done on other planets far away. According to The Sun report, recently, scientists have eyes on a planet outside our solar system, named K2-18B. This planet is located about 120 light years away from Earth. The special thing is that it has been found in a “Habitable Zone”. This means that there is every possibility of life there.
New planet full of life?
UK scientists have told The Sun that there has been a wonderful discovery. In search, there are indications that aliens may be on distant ocean planets. Top astronomers at the University of Cambridge say that they are 99.7 per cent assured that they have seen the best sign of biological activity so far. This planet can be ‘full of life’.
Strong possibility of life in K2-18B
K2-18B is a planet that revolves around a small cold star instead of a star like our sun. This planet is two and a half times larger than Earth. Scientists believe that this planet can be completely covered with water, such as a very large sea. It is called a ‘hysterine planet’, that is, a place where there can be a right environment for water and life. This planet is neither far away from its star, not very close, but in the right place where water can remain in liquid form instead of freezing or flying.

Why the possibility of life?
Astronomers have found some chemical elements in the K2–18B atmosphere that may be signs of life. Two special chemicals have been found in the atmosphere of this planet of scientists. These chemicals are dimethyl sulfide (DMS) and Dimethyl Dyulfide (DMDS). These chemicals make small creatures living in the sea on the earth, such as phytoplankatan. These are the same creatures that help in making oxygen in the sea. Scientists say that it is very difficult to make this chemical in such a large amount without any organism. That is, there may be small creatures on K2-18B, which are making these chemicals.
Such a strong signal was found for the first time
Professor Nikku Madhusudan, Professor of Cambridge University, who is the leader of this research, says, “This discovery is taking us closer to the question whether we are alone in this universe.” He says that this is the first time we have received such strong signs of life on a planet so far. He said that scientists have also found evidence of water steam in the atmosphere of the planet K2-18B, which is an essential element for life. Here is a hydrogen -rich environment that may be suited for some microorganisms.
Will we ever be able to reach there?
It is not possible to cross the 120 light year with our current technology. But in the future, as space travel and telescope will get better, we can get more information about K2–18B. Right now it is just about possibilities and it is not confirmed whether there is really life or not. However, the kind of elements that are present increase the possibility of life.

We are not alone in the universe!
At the moment, there are mere signs of life away from the earth. If this discovery is proved correct then it will be the biggest discovery of human history. New information can be excited but still needs a lot of investigation and research. After the discovery of K2-18B, it can be said that perhaps we are not alone in the universe.
