Russia captured Vuhledar region of Ukraine.
Moscow: Russian troops have today dealt a major blow to Ukraine and its allies like America. Russian forces have captured the town of Vuhledar in eastern Ukraine. After the occupation by the Russian army, the remaining Ukrainian soldiers have fled the area. Russia has captured this Ukrainian city at a time when Kiev’s biggest ally America is embroiled in a war with Israel-Iran. The Russian army forced the Ukrainian army to retreat from here.
It was a Ukrainian stronghold that faced intense opposition attacks even after Russia launched a full-scale attack in 2022. Till now Russian troops had not been able to repel Ukrainian troops from this city, but today on Wednesday the Russian army has hoisted its flag here. This is evidence of another advance by Russian forces on Ukraine. Till now the Russian army has gained control over one-fifth of Ukraine. Most areas of Luhansk, Donetsk, Zaporizhia and Kherson are already under the control of the Russian army.
Wuhledar is known for coal mining.
This city of Ukraine is known for its coal mine. Ukraine’s Eastern Military Command said it had withdrawn its troops from the hilltop town of Vuhleder with the intention of “protecting its personnel and military equipment” while avoiding encirclement by Russian troops. It is known as a coal mining town. However, the Russian Defense Ministry has not yet mentioned Wuhleder in its daily battlefield report. While Russian Telegram channels have published video of soldiers waving the Russian tricolor flag on destroyed buildings. (Reuters)
